Blockouts Drill

Each one of our catchers has his own set of catcher’s gear which speeds up the drill. Players pair up across from one another and in full gear practice throwing short hops to each other. working on dropping down into the proper block out position. keeping the ball in front of body, etc.

Pop Ups Drill

One catcher crouches behind the plate while another catcher throws a ball up high in the air, hollering “ball.” The crouched catcher must then remove his mask. locate the ball and make the catch.

Scoop And Locate Drill
